Chrome Extra -  the new edition of Kevin Pearce's Your Heart Out e-zine, is a particularly good one - it's based around a mixtape he made in 1990 that he stumbled on recently, packed with house oddities, daisy-age rap, bleep / proto-hardcore / breakbeat house / ragga-techno, and sundry unclassifiables - real interzone stuff

Two records I bought in the Berkhamsted branch of W.H. Smiths, would you believe? 

"Hit 'N Run Lover" -- love that chugging proto-NRG butt-shimmy bassline... and then it gets really torrid in the final stretch as Carol Jiani lets rip and the percussion simmers to a boil

Hi-hat pattern is the hook that reeled me in here although everything else about the track is flawless and delicious,  especially the pert bassline, the squishy synth, and that COMMANDING vocal from Christine Wiltshire
