Simon, you might enjoy this very long interview I did with London squat party originator Chris Liberator last year, it goes into a lot of detail about these topics.
i didn't realised you'd passed through the squat party scene
i liked the attitude ("it's not from Detroit it's not progressive but it's fucking avin' it" etc etc) but never clicked with the sound, but perhaps you had to hear it in situ
