                             Energy Flash

I'm pleased to announce that a new 2013 edition of Energy Flash, expanded and updated, is being published by Faber & Faber in June of this year.

Look out for news of E-Flash related events in the U.K. for late June. In the meantime, as a taster for the book, I'll be appearing at the Faber Social on April 2 in London, participating in a night of conversation and entertainment themed around Vinyl. I'll read from the new section I wrote for the Faber edition, which covers the significant developments that happened in the five years since the last edition came out, but with special focus on dubstep and the rise of EDM.

  3. yes i wrote a new chapter about 18 thousand words on development since 2007 - a surprisingly large number of them, all covered, but the focus in on dubstep / brostep /postdubstep and EDM's takeover of America.

  9. The word trap is in it, as part of a larger argument re feeding off ghetto energy, but the phenom had really blown up when it wrote the update .. To the point where there's two traps, the real thing and then this parallel thing that's like a pretty entertaining travesty of it

  11. Trap HAD NOT blown up is what I meant to write, when i was doing the update .. Problem with books is time lag of publishing production process, so there's always some new developments in the interval
